I am the designer and maker behind Maddie Kay Handbags since 2010. I live on the beautiful east coast of Florida with my husband John and twin daughters Madison and Kayla.
After spending 14 years as an Ophthalmic Technician, I decided to quit my day job to be home with my daughters. Having always been creative, I started making costumes and handbags for my then little girls. My designs have changed from diaper bags and totes to wristlet wallets, clutches, and cross body bags. It wasn't until I started receiving so many compliments and requests for my bags that I decided to start selling them at markets and then online.Maddie Kay has continued to grow every year and while I have hired help with the prepping and cutting of fabrics, I continue to construct and sew each and every bag myself. I believe in keeping my business in small batch production so that I have control over the quality and craftsmanship. Attention to detail is important to me.
Apart from my full time business, I am also a high school cross country and track coach. I started running in 2006 to get the "baby weight" off and I became hooked. I have since ran 12 marathons (5 of those were after surviving stage 3 breast cancer in 2014) and countless other race distances. Running and being outside in nature truly is my therapy.
